Paul McBeth Takes First Round Lead in PDGA Champions Cup

Going into the first major tournament of the year in disc golf—the PDGA Champions Cup—we had some predictions here at Steady Disc Golf.
Prediction One: Holyn Handley would win the FPO. She’s been playing great this year.
Prediction Two: Paul McBeth would win the MPO. He’s been working his way back to top form. He seems ready.
After the first round, it’s exciting to see that McBeth is at the top. He shot a blistering 14-under-par to take a three-shot lead over the rest of the field.
There’s three more rounds to go, though. But if McBeth keeps it up, he could potentially win his 18th major. We’d love to see that.
As for Handley she shot an even-par first round. That tied her for 13th place, 10 shots behind leader Silva Saarinen. But Handley has time to move up.
